Bayer 04 have reached the final of the national cup competition at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin five times. The other finals were all lost, A 4-2 defeat against Schalke in 2002, a 1-0 defeat against Werder Bremen in 2009 and a 4-2 defeat against Bayern Munich in 2020.
