Bundesliga fixtures 2022/23: Opener at Borussia Dortmund

The German Football League (DFL) has published the fixtures for the 2022/23 Bundesliga season. Bayer 04 start the 43rd season in Germany's top flight with an away game at Borussia Dortmund. The first game at the BayArena is a week later when FC Augsburg are the visitors. The Werkself are away to VfL Bochum in the final match of the season on 27 May 2023.

Head coach Gerardo Seoane will start the pre-season on 25 June. And the opponents for the Black and Reds in the opening game of the 2022/23 season has been announced: Lukas Hradecky and Co. will take on Borussia Dortmund. The match against BVB is followed by two home games against FC Augsburg and TSG Hoffenheim as well as an away game at Mainz 05.

The first meeting with the champions Bayern Munich is on matchday eight (30 September to 2 October). The Black and Reds are away to the DFB Cup holders RB Leipzig on matchday 12 (28 to 30 October). The derby against FC Köln is on matchday 14 (8 to 9 November).

almost two-month break

The Bundesliga season takes an almost two month break at the end of the year due to the World Cup in Qatar (29 November to 18 December). The last match before the World Cup break is set for the weekend of 11 to 13 November. The Seoane team are at home to VfB Stuttgart.

The Bundesliga returns on 20 to 22 January 2023 after the World Cup and the ensuing winter break. The Werkself opponents are Borussia Mönchengladbach. The last game at home for Leverkusen is on the weekend of 19 to 21 May – also against Gladbach. The final game of the season for the Werkself is on 27 May 2023 away to VfL Bochum.
