Vote now for Wirtz as November Player of the Month

The video games manufacturer Electronic Arts (EA), together with the German Football League (DFL), has announced the six nominations for the vote for Bundesliga Player of the Month for November – that includes Werkself midfielder Florian Wirtz. Black and Red fans can vote now!

The Werkself picked up two wins and two draws in four Bundesliga games in November. After a 0-0 draw against VfB Stuttgart and a 1-1 scoreline against VfL Bochum, the Black and Reds celebrated wins against FC Heidenheim (5-2) and Union Berlin (2-1). Florian Wirtz played in all four games and provided three assists.

Bayer 04 fans can cast their votes up to Sunday, 15 December (23.59 CET). In addition to the Leverkusen player, the other nominations are Nathaniel Brown and Omar Marmoush (Eintracht Frankfurt), Jamal Musiala and Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich) plus Anthony Caci (Mainz 05). The result is determined as follows: 40% of the weighting comes from fans votes, with 30% each from the 18 team captains plus a group of pundits.

Bayer 04 were unable to mount a comeback despite valiant efforts. A week after the 3-0 defeat in the first leg at Bayern Munich, the Werkself were beaten in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 tie. Both the goals conceded in the 2-0 defeat came in the second half.

Thanks to an impressive second-half performance and two set-piece goals, the team led by coach Roberto Pätzold sealed a 2-0 win away to newcomers FC Carl Zeiss Jena.
