Sporting managing director Simon Rolfes described the young Belgian international Noah Mbamba as "one of the great talents in his position as a six" when he signed his contract. The defensive midfielder arrived from Club Brugge in mid-January 2023 and penned a deal with Bayer 04 that runs to 30 June 2028. Rolfes on the strengths of the 1.87 metre tall Belgian: "He has excellent technique, is tall and fast. If he continues to develop at this level then he will be able to play an important role in our Werkself in the future."
Defensive midfielder Noah Mbamba has joined Fortuna Düsseldorf from Bayer 04 Leverkusen with immediate effect. The German champions and DFB Cup winners are sending the Belgian U21 international out on a one-year loan to the second division club, who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Bundesliga last season in the relegation play-offs against VfL Bochum.
