Aleix Garcia has transferred from La Liga side FC Girona for the 2024/25 season. Garcia signed a contract in Leverkusen valid until 30 June 2029. Speaking about his move, Managing Director Sport Simon Rolfes said: "Aleix has leadership qualities that will be very valuable to us in the coming years. We are delighted that we were able to sign him, he is an important factor in realising our ambitious goals." The 1.73 metre tall Garcia emphasised: "I was thrilled that a club like this would go to such lengths to get me. I really want to fulfil the expectations placed in me and do my bit to ensure that this team and the club continue to be successful."

The champions of Germany and DFB Pokal winners Bayer 04 Leverkusen have signed the top Spanish player Aleix Garcia the coming season. The 26-year-old joins the Werkself for the start of the 2024/25 season from the surprise team in La Liga, FC Girona. The holding midfielder Garcia led his team in 37 appearances as captain to achieve a complete surprise by finishing third in the table and thereby qualify for the Champions League for the first time.
