The Germany U21 keeper completed the Werkself goalkeeping set-up in the summer. The talented shot-stopper is seen as an investment for the future and is to develop alongside Lukas Hradecky as if he has all the time in the world. Grill has played for Germany teams from the U16s up. With his height of 1.91 metres, he has good physical presence and mentally he has been helped by the work of the Kaiserslautern goalkeeping coach Gerry Ehrmann: "He taught me to be obsessive." 'Lenni' quickly discovered the step up from the third division to the Bundesliga has its demands: "It's a massive step and the quality is simply completely different."
