2022 started for the Bayer 04's veterans in April with a charity match that was won, as was a friendly against BV Berg Neukirchen about a month later. This was followed in the summer by victories in the Ü40 district championship and the FVM Ü40 championship. The German Ü40 championships in Berlin ended at the end of September with a good second place.

January 2020 had two highlights in store for the Bayer 04 veterans: First on the agenda was the legendary veterans’ championship in Berlin, followed by the Budenzauber in Regensburg. This year, last year's winners only managed to finish sixth in the capital, but once again the focus was on having fun. Subsequently, however, the Corona pandemic caused the black-and-red legends to take an enforced break. Thus it remained with few possible dates for the "oldies". The Bayer 04 veterans first completed the indoor season with their usual success - the sensational third place at the outstanding AOK Veterans’ championship in Berlin was topped only by the two tournament victories at the 2nd Wuppercup and in Oldenburg. The "oldies" represented Bayer 04 in the best possible way in a total of 16 matches and tournaments, and were able to help the various match organizers raise over €170,000 for good causes.
