Tickets allocated for Leipzig match

Bayer 04 Leverkusen are ready for a possible return of fans to the stadium. In accordance with the coronavirus prevention order of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, 6,000 spectators will watch the first Bundesliga home game against RB Leipzig at the BayArena on Saturday, 26 September. The tickets available for this match have now been allocated amongst the season ticket holders.

The German states decided to run a six-week test on Tuesday, 15 September. Accordingly, at events with over 1,000 spectators, 20 per cent capacity will be permitted nationwide. There is, however, one restriction. If the seven-day infection rate per hundred thousand inhabitants in the venue of Leverkusen is 35 or more and there is no clear limit to the spread of infection then the game will be played behind closed doors.

Deadline for approval: Friday, 25 September

Leverkusen City Council has already approved the hygiene and safety concept submitted by Bayer 04 Leverkusen. If the critical value of 35 new infections per 100,000 population is not exceeded by Friday morning, 25 September, then the plan remains in place as per the agreement between the club and the city council. Failing that, the match will be played behind closed doors as was the case last season. As soon as the decision is made, Bayer 04 will inform season ticket holders by email that they have been drawn out in the ballot. The information will also be announced on the club media at the same time.

Exclusively for season ticket holders

At the end of August, Bayer 04 announced that match tickets available this season would initially be allocated via ballot among season ticket holders who have taken the "Draw" option for the 2020/21 season. This also ensures the track and traceability of contacts as required by law. We have put together answers to FAQs for matchday for season ticket holders.

Ballot on Monday, 21 September

Around 8,000 of the 16,000 season ticket holders have taken up the "Draw" option. The ballot for the Bundesliga match against RB Leipzig was held amongst those on Monday afternoon, 21 September. Both the 'winners' and 'losers' will be informed of the result of the ballot via email. As with fixtures before the coronavirus pandemic, 20% of the tickets go to hospitality clients and 80% (5,000 tickets) to supporters for the public areas at the BayArena.

Ticket prices

During the restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, ticket prices have been harmonised and reduced according to individual stands.

Main stand: Full price: €30/ Concessions: €22 / Children: €9

Opposite stand: €25 / €18 / €7

Fan area 1: €17 / €12 / €5 – Blocks A, C, D, E and H

Fan area 2: €10 / €7  – Blocks SC, SD and SE and G

Hygiene and safety concept

The Bayer 04 hygiene and safety concept covers the following key points:

  • Face masks must be worn at the BayArena. This particularly applies if the physical distance of 1.5 metres cannot be maintained.
  • By separating the blocks and sectors plus the appropriate route guidance with distance markings, spectators are able to maintain the minimum distance throughout the stadium.
  • The fully automatic access system including QR codes, which will be sent out to the winners of the ballot via email, plus contactless payment at the BayArena meet the hygiene requirements.
  • All surfaces will be regularly cleaned and disinfected before and during the event.
  • Bags, larger than A4, are not permitted. In addition, Bayer 04 request supporters to arrive early and regularly use the available sanitiser dispensers and hand washing facilities.

'Match them as equals when it's 11 vs. 11': Women out for revenge at Wolfsburg for reverse fixture defeat

The Bundesliga home game against VfL Wolfsburg in the first half of the season was one of those classic ‘days to forget’ for Bayer 04 Women. It started with goalkeeper Charlotte Voll being shown a red card in the first minute of the game, and following a further sending-off, coach Roberto Pätzold's 9-women side ended up losing 5-1 to last season's runners-up. At 18.30 CET on Sunday, they'll have the chance to exact revenge at the AOK Stadium - and pick up valuable points in the race for third place.

Werkself Review #B04FCB: 'Played with structure, passion and power'

After full time in the 1-1 draw against FC Bayern Munich, the Bayer 04 fans first had to catch their breath. Firstly because of their usual loud support, and secondly because of the great drama they'd witnessed on the pitch: three disallowed goals, two red cards and a Werkself side who "again produced a very good performance against strong opponents", as head coach Kasper Hjulmand described. The Dane was particularly enthused by the performance of young Montrell Culbreath, while Patrik Schick got to enjoy his 200th appearance under the Cross. The Werkself Review unpacks the action.

Werkself held to 1-1 draw by Bayern in eventful encounter

Bayer 04 were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Bayern Munich in an eventful Matchday 26 fixture in the Bundesliga. Aleix Garcia had given the Werkself the lead inside six minutes, but Bayern levelled in the second half through Luis Diaz, despite Nicolas Jackson having been send off before the break. Diaz was then dismissed himself as Leverkusen pushed for a winner, which failed to materialise as Jonas Hofmann saw a late goal ruled out.
