'Rudi recounts…': Vollborn on November highlights

Rüdiger Vollborn has been at the club for 40 years, he holds the record number of Bundesliga appearances for the club (401) and is the only Bayer 04 player to have won both the UEFA Cup (1988) and the DFB Pokal (1993). And the Berliner stayed with the Werkself after ending his impressive playing career as he worked as a goalkeeping coach for the following nine years. Vollborn now works under the Bayer Cross as a fan liaison officer and club archivist. Since February 2021, the personalised Black and Red lexicon takes Werkself fans under the heading of 'Rudi recounts...' on a brief trip through the history of Bayer 04 every month…

Vollborn looks back at goals, matches, personalities and stories away from the pitch from the Bayer 04 club history. For the month of November the Leverkusen legend includes the “shortest dressing room speech of my career.” He also talks about birthday boys Andreas Nagel and Anders Giske. Fanzone opening – 'Unique in this form'

The countdown is on: The new Bayer 04 Fanzone will open in the South Stand at the BayArena in three weeks on 20 November. The shopping and fan experience, covering over 700 square metres, with a great view of the pitch at the BayArena will be a special attraction for all Werkself fans. Bayer 04 supporters can not only look forward to a wide range of fan merchandise. The Fanzone has special interactive experiences for all fans and the trophies won by the club can be admired close-up.

North Stand charity and DKMS join forces at Stuttgart game

Mouth open, swab in, become a donor – and then get behind the Werkself! The charity organisation Nordkurve karitativ, in partnership with DKMS, are holding a stem cell donor registration event at the home game against VfB Stuttgart on Friday, 1 November (kick-off: 20.30 CET). The aim is motivate as many fans as possible to register as a stem cell donor with DKMS.
