Mitchel Bakker leaves Bayer 04 for Atalanta

Mitchel Bakker has left Bayer 04 Leverkusen to join Italian Serie A side Atalanta. The 23-year-old left full-back came to the BayArena in summer 2021 from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Dutchman made 53 Bundesliga appearances for Die Werkself (four goals, six assists), while also playing 15 times in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, plus two matches in the DFB Cup.

“We’d like to thank Mitch for his efforts at Bayer 04 and wish him much success for his next step in Italy,” said sporting managing director Simon Rolfes.
