3-0 at Mainz – Werkself clock up record Bundesliga start
The Werkself secured a fifth league win with outstanding travelling support. Bayer 04 now have 16 points from six games after the 3-0 victory away to Mainz 05 and that is the best Bundesliga start in the club's history. The Leverkusen goals were scored by Sepp van den Berg with an own goal plus Alejandro Grimaldo and Jonas Hofmann.

4-1 against Heidenheim – fourth league win for the Werkself
The Werkself picked up the next three points on Bundesliga matchday five with a 4-1 home win against FC Heidenheim. The first goal of the game was scored by Victor Boniface on nine minutes. The visitors levelled on 58 minutes but Bayer 04 responded with goals from Jonas Hofmann (63'), Boniface (75') to restore the lead and Amine Adli (83') rounded off the scoring at 4-1. That is the fourth win in the current campaign as the Werkself remain unbeaten.
