Oczipka: ‘Bayer 04 are my hometown club’
Born in Bergisch Gladbach, he became a professional footballer under the Bayer Cross: Bastian Oczipka joined the youth section at Bayer 04 at the age of ten and the 30-year-old has been at Schalke 04 since 2017 after playing for several other clubs. Ahead of the clash with his former club on Saturday night (kick-off 18.30 CET at the BayArena), bayer04.de spoke to Oczipka about the season to date for his Royal Blues, his past under the Bayer Cross and, of course, the forthcoming big match.
