It wasn't to be: after a highly emotional journey in the UEFA Europa League, Bayer 04 lost 3-0 to Atalanta in the final, also ending the run of 51 competitive games without defeat. Everything was set up for a historic day for the Black-and-Reds: 12,000 fans supported the Werkself in Dublin, getting into the spirit long before kick-off and also creating a brilliant atmosphere in the stadium.
